How to Join

There are over 600,000 registered basketball players in Australia, with many hundreds of thousands more who play socially. It is a game that can be played by anybody, men, women, adults, children, old, young, the able-bodied and the disabled. Basketball truly is Everybody’s Game.
There are also many thousands of people who enjoy the rewards of being regular coaches, referees, statisticians, scorekeepers, officials and administrators.

Joining Glenmore Park Basketball is easy – simply contact the club registrars (found on Contact us page) and we’ll help you get into a team.

For children who haven’t played basketball before, we recommend attending the Learn to Play program through Penrith Basketball. Please contact Jarod Moore on 47313 252 for registration and further details.

There is a Summer and Winter competition, so you can choose which season you would like to play, or play all year round!

Club Membership: Cost is $10 per season and is payable at Nomination Day (details penrithbasketball.net) or if you are a returning player, payable to your team manager during the first 3 weeks of the competition.

Registration: Payable to Penrith Basketball at your first game. Registration is for 12 months from this date.
u8s – $15.00
(5, 6, 7 years of age on/before 31st December)

Miniball (u10s) – $68.00
(NOT turning 12 on/before 31st December)

Juniors $89
(Members 12-17 years of age on/before 31st December)

Uniform costs:
Singlet is $30 and payable at the time of joining.
Black basketball shorts (plain black, no logos larger than a playing card, no stripes, no pockets) can be purchased at Rebel Sports, Best & Less and Kmart.
*Please note: Correct uniform is compulsory at every game (according to PDBA by-laws). Teams will lose competition points should a player be out of uniform – except in the first three games of a new competition).

Training:
Training is held at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. Your team manager will inform you of what day/time training is held.

Parent Participation:
All parents are encourage to be involved. Each family is required to do bench duty (scoring or timekeeper). PDBA hold scoretable courses once a year however there are many qualified bench staff in our club who are able to assist you when it’s your family’s turn. Minimum age of persons doing bench duty is 13 years of age. At Grand Final games, PDBA supply qualify bench at no cost to the club.
